Against the gravity
It isn't unusual for me to be the center of an ongoing conversation whether it's about my teaching methods, writing style, colorful wardrobe, or lack of any desire to follow rules; I am constantly being assessed by others who want to understand me, but when they cannot get frustrated and lash out.
Arriving to yoga today, I am thrilled to be stepping into Friday's gentle and restorative class with the male instructor I have yet to experience. A new instructor brings a new vibe, and after this week I knew I was in desperate need of restoration. We work through class with many tools including my favorite: the wall.
This thing so many people use to box themselves in, to organize their lives, to give them a sense of structure- we use to adjust not only our perspective but the perspective within our body.
When you make decisions in your life that is best for you, one of the most important parts of the decision-making process comes after. No it is not putting in all the work beforehand preparing; it is the ability to trust your assessment afterwards and take the truth in whatever form or fashion it shows itself to you.
Believe people when they show who they are. The fall from one perspective can be startling, yet satisfying. Stop fighting the pull and find ways to embrace it.
