I spent a small intimate moment doing a yoga routine this afternoon alone. My energy level was too low to participate in the high active classes offered this afternoon, my body just couldn't handle it. So I used my yoga app and followed a stretching and restorative routine in my study that is cluttered with my side business materials, various sized canvas, a cart full of acrylic paints and paint pins, framed photographs, wall decor, and several books scattered between my two desks. The study is not conducive for working out, but the thing about your yoga practice is that it can be done any where. Your practice is simply your body, your breath, and your mind.
I was hesitant to make this decision today - my 100 day project is to do yoga and blog every day (not necessarily requiring it to be at the studio) - so why did I start having a feeling of let down when I knew I didn't have energy for core class or Vinyasa today? Why? Because we are our own worst enemy.
Yoga is mobile. You don't have to always do it at the same location, or with a group, or inside, or whatever the case is. And in the same thought, finding peace within yourself as an extension of your practice is mobile. At any moment, place or situation you can complete a pose and bring yourself some energy, or relaxation, or peace.
The recognition of the power within oneself unleashes ones ability to live in each day.
