redefine & restore
Every Friday I look forward to the restorative class at 4:30 PM with the warm-voiced yogi instructor. Most summer days are either packed with errands and one-on-one meetings or completely free and lounge-filled. Today was the former, two appointments with dear friends to discuss my make-up and skin care products and side hustle plus a little of the life lesson category.
The winding path of the side hustle has reconnected me to people I never knew I would be so fortunate to cross paths with again. The connections are grounded in a genuine foundation of love and trust. No matter where we have gone or what we have been through, the established connection remains the same.
I don't remember how I developed the "don't burn bridges" way of life. All I do know is that I am certain it has created these beautiful revitalized relationships I am experiencing now in folds.
Today's class had several new faces, but one woman who I see constantly asked me how my blog was going. I was shocked seeing as I hadn't talked about it lately in the studio and didn't know anyone would even remember me mentioning it. That's the thing though: you never know when steps that you are taking to grow in your life stay with another person. Her recognition of my project and then further acknowledgement to want the address to the blog blew my mind.
When I was younger I always wished for the impossible talent to see into the future. Which would lead me to the conflicting thought process of "what if seeing into my future causes me to disrupt my ability to get to that future?" Maybe I subconsciously began smoothing the roads of my relationships in order to ensure whatever possible future would be obtainable.
The best part about restorative class is the time you get to reset your body, mind, and energy. Friends are like that. And if you aren't careful about burning bridges, you may end up looking around and have no one to help you realign your energy.
