simultaneous relaxation

Friday's always conclude with 4:30 restorative class. Today though I was joined by funky fierce friend Breanne. Our last united yoga experience was a total flop, but we know at 3 Tree we will always be educated, encouraged, and challenged.

I arrived first today, which means that I got the already set up props by the amazing warm-hearted instructor. He always sets up his mat and props along with an additional set for whoever is first to arrive. Kindness is everywhere in the studio.

Restorative poses are long-lasting poses that require deep breathing, an awareness of thoughts, and patience. With the environment of ease and the repetition of deep breaths, the entire class fell asleep. At the same time! I know because after class when I was explaining how I fell asleep and woke up confused why everyone else was now in bridge pose but I was still on my side, the instructor explained that at one point he gave an instruction and none of us moved. You know it's a good restorative class when everyone of us is so zenned out that we knock out.

The only way that can happen, for me at least, is when my mind, body, and spirit are connected. In that harmony I am able to achieve a true feeling of peace.

We are require rest. It is not productive to run yourself into the ground for anything or anyone. Discovering the flow between your grind and your rest is what truly creates happiness and genuine inner peace.
