a break

The beautiful thing about summer as a teacher is the ability to decide to do run down to another city for a couple days. And those days can be weekend days and a Monday. Because why not?

A change in environment is a beautiful thing. It's refreshing and relaxing. I love my college town, San Antonio. This trip, however, is slightly different. The boyfriend has joined me. I have never brought someone here with me.

It is a shift in my life to want to share everything with someone else. I think that our balance is key to allowing me to feel confident and comfortable with taking a mini vacation with him. Time off together is powerful. We definitely push each on a regular basis in a supportive manner, but this is a chance for us to do some work separately while down here and then rest together.

My back is healing with some help from a doctor and instructions to be gentle on the muscles. So I'm taking a break from the more active yoga routines and am sticking to some inversions and easy twists and fold poses. Being able to take a break demonstrates maturity in my practice.
