inversion
As I try to let my back heal for a few days and take it easy, I am practicing more inversion poses reversing the blood flow, removing the weight from my lower back and legs, and pouring energy into myself. Yoga is a practice that encourages me to focus on self-care that translates into a healthier perspective of my relationships.
I believe in this practice. Even on these days where I'm battling shingles and a strained back muscle, the moments on the mat are centering. The time spent gives me the freedom to hear my breathing - the soundtrack to my life.
I've been doing restorative poses that my body is feeling just as I feel it. The connection to your body to have that conversation as you move is powerful and solidifies my stability. One must assess their foundation as an upkeep in order to provide consistent adjustments and avoid an overwhelming feeling.
